King's Award for Voluntary Service Presentation for Kington Walks

The Lord-Lieutenant of Herefordshire, Mr Edward Harley CBE, presented Kington Walks with The King's Award for Voluntary Service (KAVS) on Friday 24th April at The Burton Hotel. The KAVS is the highest Award given to local voluntary groups in the UK and is equivalent to an MBE.

Kington Walks is a charity-run volunteer organisation based in Kington. It promotes walking, maintains local footpaths, runs health walks, and organises walking festivals. The KAVS recognised Kington Walks work in:

  • Promoting health and wellbeing through walking.

  • Running community walking programmes.

  • Maintaining more than 30 miles of local footpaths.

  • Attracting visitors through its walking festivals
