HM Lord-Lieutenant The Dowager Countess of Darnley CVO was delighted to welcome His Royal Highness The Princess of Wales to Herefordshire on Tuesday 5 November.
His Royal Highness visited ETL Systems, based in Madley who are a global technology company which has won three Queen’s Awards for Enterprise for their innovative products.
The Prince met members of staff who are involved in the manufacture of their products and watched demonstrations of the company’s products in action.
Later, His Royal Highness visited Ross-on-Wye to officially launch the Gilpin 2020 Festival, an event that celebrates the town’s role as the birthplace of British tourism.
The Prince met a range of local voluntary and charitable organisations, as well as environment groups, and toured a local producers’ market sampling Herefordshire produce.
The Prince greeted members of the public who had gathered in the town from the balcony of the Market Hall and watched a dance performance by local school children before he lit a torch to formally open the Gilpin 2020 Festival.
